WELCOME to the 2013 NWFGSA
Welcome to the Northwest Florida Girls Softball Alliance Website.
The mission statement: The Alliance is an assembly of Recreational girls softball associations (Member Parks) whose sole purpose is to collectively develop and enhance the Recreational level of girl’s softball through the spirit of harmony and cooperation, The following By-Laws/ playing rules are based on an agreement between the member parks that began in 1982 and is up-dated through the combined effort of those members who have assembled for the year 2013 and beyond Softball season.
The Alliance is a support organization whose only goal is to help organize and support the member parks thus providing them a complete set of By Laws and playing rules pertaining to sportsmanship and fair play. The Alliance host/ sponsor two tournaments each year, a Midseason and year-end All-Star tournament. All proceeds, excluding umpire fees, go directly to the member park and those funds are placed into their operating account.
Part of the alliance yearly membership fee pays for the Alliance Sportsmanship trophies for each age division. In the Midseason Tournament a team is chosen from each age group to receive this award. The award is presented to the teams whose coaches and team members project the best overall sportsmanship throughout the Tournament. The teams who receive this award should be commended for being excellent examples of good sportsmanship and fair play.
The continued mission and only goal of the Alliance is to promote the sport of Recreational Youth Fast Pitch softball and help the member park/ host raise funds for their associations.
This Alliance Website facilitates the timely transfer and dissemination of information to the community at large. The purpose is to promote girl's fastpitch softball and provide an effective means of communication between the community, teams and parents. The Alliance was formed in 1982, from the efforts and support of Robert F.Cowan.DC
